Privacy policy

BlueGuard Home Cleaning (“BlueGuard”, “we”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit homecleaning.blueguard.ca or book a clean, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies under Canada’s PIPEDA, Ontario law and Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).

Information we collect

  • Contact details: name, email, phone number and service address.
  • Home details you give us to price a clean: bedrooms, bathrooms, size, pets, entry instructions and notes.
  • Booking history, communications with our team and reviews you leave.
  • Payment is taken in person after the service (e-Transfer, debit/credit card or cash). We do not collect card numbers or other payment-card data through the website.
  • Job applications: the information and resume you send through our careers form.
  • Website usage data (pages viewed, device type) through analytics cookies, only with your consent.

How we use it

We never sell your personal information. We do not send marketing emails without your consent, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

  • To price, schedule and perform your clean, and to bill you after the clean.
  • To send booking confirmations, reminders and review requests.
  • To answer your questions and handle reschedules, cancellations and re-clean requests.
  • To evaluate job applications.
  • To improve our website and services (aggregated analytics).

Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers who help us run the business, under contracts that require them to protect it: Resend (transactional email), our hosting provider, and Google Analytics (only if you accept analytics cookies). Some providers may store data outside Quebec or Canada; we assess the protection offered before any such transfer, as Law 25 requires.

Your name, address and entry instructions are shared with the cleaners assigned to your booking, only for that visit.

Cookies and consent

Essential cookies keep the site and booking flow working. Analytics cookies load only after you consent through our cookie banner, and you can withdraw consent at any time.

How long we keep it

Booking and payment records are kept for seven years to meet tax obligations. Job applications are kept for up to 12 months. Other information is deleted or anonymised once it is no longer needed.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, withdraw consent, or ask how it was used. Quebec residents may also request data portability and information about automated decisions. We respond within 30 days.
