Why now
What summer does to your home
Every Canadian season leaves its own mess. Here is what we see in Ottawa-area homes this time of year.
Green, slippery decks
Spring rain leaves algae and mildew on decks and patio stones, which turn slick and grey.
Sun shows every streak
Long, bright days make dirty windows and dusty surfaces impossible to ignore.
Cottonwood, pollen and bugs
Window screens, sills and siding collect cottonwood fluff, pollen and spider webs all season.
Guests and barbecues
Cottage weekends, visitors and backyard parties mean more traffic through the kitchen and bathrooms.

Local know-how
Tips from our Ottawa crews
- 1
Wash before you stain
Stain and sealer only stick to clean wood. Give a washed deck 48 dry hours before you stain.
- 2
Skip the hottest hours
Windows cleaned in full afternoon sun dry too fast and streak. We book exterior glass in the morning.
- 3
Keep it going while you travel
Away at the cottage? A bi-weekly plan with lockbox entry means you come home to a clean house.
Summer cleaning: your questions
How much does pressure washing cost in Ottawa?
Driveways start at $199, decks at $229 and siding at $349 before tax. Larger or multi-surface jobs get a fixed quote first.
Will pressure washing damage my deck?
Not with the right pressure. We use a lower setting and a wide fan tip on softwood, and a soft-wash method on siding, so fibres and paint are not stripped.
Do you clean windows on two-storey homes?
Yes. Inside and outside window cleaning for two-storey homes starts at $349, with ladders and safety gear included.
What happens if it rains on my booking day?
Exterior work is moved to the next dry slot at no charge. Indoor cleaning goes ahead as planned.
Do I need to be home?
No. For outdoor work we only need access to an outside tap. For indoor cleaning you can leave a key, lockbox code or concierge note.
