Standard Cleaning in Ottawa & area

Standard Cleaning is the heart of BlueGuard Home Cleaning: a complete, consistent clean of the rooms you live in every day, done by insured and background-checked cleaners from a team that has been NADCA-certified for duct cleaning since 2020. It works as a one-time clean when you need to catch up, or as a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly visit that keeps your home ready for whatever the week brings.

What we clean, room by room

Throughout the home, we dust every reachable surface: shelves, tables, picture frames, window sills, the tops of baseboards and light fixtures within reach. Carpets and rugs are vacuumed, hard floors are vacuumed and mopped, and stairs are cleaned step by step.

In the kitchen, counters and the backsplash are wiped and sanitized, the sink and faucet are scrubbed and polished, the stovetop is degreased and cabinet fronts and appliance exteriors are wiped down, including the microwave outside, fridge doors and dishwasher front.

In the bathrooms, the toilet is cleaned inside and out, the tub and shower are scrubbed, wall tiles are wiped, mirrors and chrome are polished, and the vanity and sink are left streak-free.

In bedrooms and living areas, beds are made (with fresh sheets if you leave them out, or add the sheet-change option), surfaces are dusted, cushions are straightened and items are tidied.

Every visit ends with trash removal: bins are emptied and liners replaced.

What is not included

Standard cleaning does not include the inside of the oven, fridge or cabinets, unfinished basements or exterior windows. These are available as fixed-price add-ons, or as part of a deep clean.

Pricing you can see before you book

Our pricing formula is transparent. Every clean starts with a $99 base. Bedrooms add $45 for the first and $25 for each additional one (a studio is $35). Bathrooms add $30 for the first full bathroom, $25 for each additional full bathroom and $15 for each half bath. Larger homes add a size surcharge from $20 at 1,000 sq ft, and a finished basement adds $49.

That means a studio starts from $164, a one-bedroom, one-bathroom home under 1,000 sq ft is $174, a three-bedroom, two-bathroom home of about 1,500 sq ft is $289 and a four-bedroom, two-and-a-half bath home of about 2,200 sq ft is $349, all before tax. Recurring visits save 20% weekly, 15% bi-weekly or 10% monthly from the second visit.

Local, seasonal attention

Our crews clean homes in Ottawa, Gatineau, Durham, Montréal and Eastern Ontario, and they know what each season does to a house. In winter, they spend extra time on entryways and floors where salt and slush get tracked in. In spring and fall, mud, sand and leaves get the same treatment. Summer brings pollen on window sills and sand from the beach and the park.

Paying and guarantees

No card is needed to book: you pay only after the clean is done, on-site, by e-Transfer, debit/credit card or cash. If anything on the checklist was missed, report it within 24 hours and we will come back to re-clean it for free. Free rescheduling is available with 24 hours’ notice.
