About this service
Carpet hides dirt well, which is exactly the problem. Vacuuming lifts what sits on top, but sand, salt crystals, pet dander and fine dust sink to the base of the fibres. Every footstep grinds them in, wearing the carpet down and dulling its colour. A professional carpet clean pulls that embedded dirt out and brings the carpet back to life.
Our carpet cleaning process
Inspection: we look at the fibre type, high-traffic lanes and spots, and point out anything that may not fully come out, such as old, set-in stains or bleach marks.
Pre-vacuum: dry soil is removed first so cleaning solutions work on the dirt that matters.
Pre-treatment: traffic lanes, entry areas and common spots like coffee, food, mud and pet accidents are treated before the main clean.
Steam or shampoo cleaning: depending on the carpet, we use hot-water extraction (steam) or shampoo cleaning to loosen and lift soil, then extract as much moisture as possible.
Grooming and drying: the pile is groomed so it dries evenly. Most carpets are dry enough to walk on in a few hours with good ventilation.
Area rugs
Area rugs are cleaned using methods suited to their fibres and construction, from $59 per rug. For delicate natural fibres, hand-knotted or antique rugs, we may ask for photos first and recommend a specialist when that is the safer option.
Winter salt in Canadian homes
Salt stains are one of the most common carpet problems we see in Ottawa, Montréal and Durham. White tide marks near the front door, on stairs and in the basement entry come from salt and calcium chloride tracked in from sidewalks. They attract more dirt and can stiffen the fibres. Late March to May, once the salt season is over, is the ideal time to clean.

Carpet cleaning is $45 per room with a $149 minimum, and area rugs start from $59, before tax. Hallways and stairs are quoted when you book. Carpet cleaning can be booked alone or added to a deep, spring or move clean so everything is done in one visit. We clean surfaces first and carpet last, so dust from shelves does not settle on clean carpet.
Pets and allergies
For homes with pets, add our pet hair and odour treatment to your clean. For allergy sufferers, pairing carpet cleaning with BlueGuard air duct cleaning removes the dust that would otherwise settle back into the carpet from the vents. BlueGuard has been NADCA-certified for duct cleaning since 2020.

How long does carpet take to dry?
Most carpets are dry enough to walk on within a few hours, depending on the fibre, humidity and ventilation. Opening windows or running fans and the furnace fan speeds it up.
Can you remove salt stains from carpet?
In most cases, yes. Salt tide marks near entrances and on stairs usually lift with pre-treatment and hot-water extraction. Very old marks may lighten rather than disappear completely.
