About this service
Your sofa is probably the most used piece of furniture in your home and one of the least cleaned. It absorbs body oils from heads and arms, crumbs from movie nights, spilled coffee, pet hair and the general grime of daily life. Over time, the fabric darkens along the arms and headrests and starts to smell stale. Professional upholstery cleaning brings it back.
What we clean
Fabric sofas and sectionals (priced per three-seat section), loveseats, armchairs, accent chairs, dining chairs with fabric seats, ottomans and headboards. For leather, suede or furniture with special care labels, ask us first and we will confirm whether we can safely clean it.
Our process
Inspection and fabric check: we look for the manufacturer’s cleaning code and test an inconspicuous spot to choose the right method.
Vacuuming: loose dirt, crumbs and pet hair are removed from the surface, seams and crevices, and under cushions.
Pre-treatment: arms, headrests and spots are treated to break down oils and common stains.
Cleaning: fabric is cleaned with a method suited to the fibre, then as much moisture as possible is extracted so it dries quickly.
Grooming: the fabric is brushed to dry evenly and look its best.
Pricing
Prices are simple: $129 for a three-seat sofa, $99 for a loveseat and $49 for a chair, before tax. Sectionals are priced by section when you book. Upholstery cleaning can be booked on its own or added to a regular, deep or move clean. If you are also cleaning carpets, we do the upholstery first so nothing drips on freshly cleaned carpet.
When to book
Every 12 to 24 months is a good rule for well-used furniture, more often with kids or pets. Spring is popular after a winter spent indoors, and many clients book before hosting the holidays. It is also a smart step when moving into a furnished home or after a household illness.
Pets and allergies
Pet hair and dander work deep into fabric. For homes with pets, combine upholstery cleaning with our pet hair and odour removal. For allergy sufferers, cleaning upholstery together with carpets and BlueGuard air duct cleaning reduces the dust and dander that circulate through the home. How long until I can sit on the sofa?
Most fabric furniture is dry enough to use within a few hours. Good ventilation, fans and the furnace fan help it dry faster.
Will it remove pet odours from my couch?
Upholstery cleaning removes hair, dander and surface odours. For stronger pet odours, add our pet hair and odour removal treatment. Odours that reached deep into the cushion foam may not disappear completely.
How often should upholstery be cleaned?
